Besides the competitions for university teams, the RoboCup has designed the RoboCup Junior for younger people. It is designed to introduce RoboCup to primary and secondary school pupils, to build and program a robot by themselves. Beside the soccer robots, the pupils are also able to build a dance robot and a rescue robot. There are competitions for the ages of 9-14 and 15-19. The event offers the participants to learn a lot about technical aspects, but it also offers social skills. Every participant knows a lot about his or her own field of study (electronics, programming, etc.). To let a robot work, the different parts should match with eachother, so the participants have to work together.
